SUPPORT THE EDUCATION OF MAYAN CHILDREN

THE PROJECT

HeBrother Oscar Azmitia Bilingual Intercultural SchoolIt is a Mayan community educational center. It is located in the municipality ofcunen, department of El Quiché.

It has been in operation since 1999 and is the work of a group of altruistic teachers of Mayan descent. It was created due to the need to benefit low-income students and to increase the schooling of the population.

It is a project that offers an educational alternative that responds to the reality of the Mayan people. The school implements a quality bilingual (K'iche'-Spanish) education, as well as holistic pedagogical methodologies from the autochthonous cultural approach.

WHY DO THEY NEED YOUR SUPPORT?

HeBrother Oscar Azmitia Bilingual Intercultural School gives education and even food to low-income children and youth who otherwise would not be able to get ahead in life. They have no support from the Guatemalan state. Teachers often have to give up their salary because the parents of those enrolled cannot afford the monthly payments.just for that already they need your help

Besides, school has not been finished yet. There are no classrooms to be built, there is a shortage of furniture, computer and office supplies. In order to guarantee the sustainability and independence of the project, we are thinking of creating craft workshops and others that can serve as sources of economic resources. For this you have to create the entire infrastructure. For this reason too They need your help.

It is a project of more than twenty years. The facilities require maintenance from time to time. What is damaged by use and even by inclement weather must be repaired. As is the case with the devastating passage of tropical storms that leave all kinds of damage. For this and much more they need your help
